Summer League 2019/20

The Summer League is an annual event held during the off season.
The inaugural league was won by the Full Montys with a last game victory over the Yorkshire Puddings.

The Summer League format has been slightly altered for the 2019/20 season

Games will be made up of 3 periods of 15minutes. All games will be running clock and in the event of a draw after 45 minutes a 5min 3v3 overtime will be played. Sudden death will then apply in overtime and if scores are still level then each team will have 3 penalty shots.

If scores are still level after overtime and 3 penalty shots then the penalty shootout will go into sudden death. (Sudden death penalty takers cannot be the players who took the original 3 penalties.)

Win 3 points and a loss 0 points. If teams are level on points then Goal Difference followed by head to head results will apply to determine final league placings.

The Summer League draft will take place on Sunday 7th July and there will be 6 teams competing in the league this year:

  • Steelers White
  • Steelers Blue
  • Steelers Orange
  • South Leeds Rams
  • Rotherham Ducks
  • Full Montys

At the end of the league season the top 4 teams will make the playoffs. 1st v 4th and 2nd v 3rd will play in semi finals followed by the final to determine the 2nd Summer League Winner.

The fixtures have already been scheduled and the countdown has begun to the Summer League Draft on the 7th July 2019.
